With the MLB All-Star Game just around the corner, we take a look at the five best performances from the first half of the 2015 season.

The best players in Major League Baseball have descended upon Cincinnati, Ohio this week for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game.

The event provides fans with an opportunity to watch the best of the best compete for home-field advantage in the World Series, but it also serves as a launching point for MVP and Cy Young Award campaigns. While the game has no bearing whatsoever on the outcomes of these respective races, a great showing will undoubtedly lead to hours of debates as to whom the favorites are heading toward the season’s final stretch.

Several players have already solidified their spot as the early favorites with an outstanding first half of the 2015 season. So far we have witnessed a Cy Young Award candidate toss a no-hitter, a former high school prodigy playing up to the hype and the emergence of a pair of Triple Crown hopefuls.

Every player that steps on the baseball diamond Tuesday night at the Great American Ball Park has had an impressive 2015 season to date, but this list is about those who have exceeded the norm and separated themselves from this pack of great players.

The final months of the regular season are shaping up to be as memorable as ever, but first let’s appreciate the magnificent seasons-to-date from some of the best players in the game.
