The MLB Trade Deadline is right around the corner, and Johnny Cueto is going to be one of the hottest ames on the market.

When the MLB Trade Deadline arrives at the end of the month, there is going to already have been plenty of activity when it comes to names being kicked around in hypothetical deals. The rumor mill is already churning at a rapid pace, and one of the names at the top of the list is Cincinnati Reds ace Johnny Cueto.

The Reds are having serious issues trying to contend right now, and while they’re living in the moment with the All-Star Game in town, the reality is they need to make some changes. The biggest change they can make is trading Cueto and there are already a handful of teams coming forward with interest.

According to Bob Nightengale on Twitter, the Reds are receiving the most interest from Houston, Toronto and Kansas City when it comes to

The Astros are just a half-game out of first place in the AL West, the Royals have an almost five-game lead on the Minnesota Twins in the Central while the Blue Jays sit in fourth place in the AL East but still less than five-games behind the Yankees in first.

Any of these teams acquiring Cueto would be an expensive addition but it would be one that could either propel them into the lead inside of their division or keep them there, in the case of Kansas City.

Cincinnati may end up not moving Cueto, but there will only be increasing interest as the deadline approaches, and what is now just three teams with interest is more than likely going to grow well beyond that.
