Baseball is Back! The Royals and White Sox start the ceremonial second half of the season at 2:10 this afternoon playing the first game of their double-header, and then all 30 teams are in action getting their first series after the All Star break underway under the lights tonight. With so many options on the board, it shapes up to be a great Friday for fantasy baseball as well, so let’s start our lineups with a look at the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to attack.

You’ll be able to find this daily post each morning to help you get your fantasy baseball lineup constructed throughout the second half.  Each day when I put together my top 10, I focus on each hitter’s individual history against the probable pitcher they are expected to face. While success in previous meetings doesn’t always guarantee future results, it is still definitely a good indicator to consider.

I try to include a variety of teams and positions in this post so that the information is useful to you in as many ways as possible. Today, there are some solid sleepers who can be considered as starters due to their matchup, as well as a few bigger names who look poised for a huge game to start off the weekend.

If you find this information helpful and would like to make our coverage a regular part of your fantasy baseball routine, set a bookmark on the fantasy baseball hub.  You can also follow @FansidedFantasy on Twitter where I’ll tweet out links to the daily posts each morning.

If you are looking to try out a daily league fantasy baseball league today, one option to consider is FanDuel where you can find daily competitions each day of the MLB season. You can get there by clicking the link in the box above or the link at the end of the post. FanDuel is just one of the many sites you can play daily fantasy baseball on, and to see how I’m putting together my lineup for today for DraftKings using these picks and some others head over to the fantasy baseball hub.

It’s great to have baseball back, so let’s get right into our top ten batter vs pitcher matchups for this Friday, July 17.

10. Victor Martinez-DH-Detroit Tigers: Martinez and the Tigers host the Orioles at Comerica Park tonight as long as the rain holds off.  If they do get the game in as expected, look for V-Mart to have a good game against Ubaldo Jimenez who he is 8-24 (.333) against in his career with a double, three homers, and nine RBI.

9.  Carlos Gomez-OF-Milwaukee Brewers: The Brewers and Pirates open the second half with a NL Central showdown in Milwaukee. The Brewers will face Charlie Morton tonight which sets up well for Gomez who is 5-11 (.455) with a homer and three RBI in his career against Morton.

8. Daniel Murphy-2B-New York Mets: Murphy and the Mets look to take down the Cardinals in St. Louis tonight after a wild ride in the first half of the season.  Tonight, they’ll take on Lance Lynn who Murphy has had success against in the past going 6-14 (.429) including a pair of doubles and three RBI.
