Gyasi Zardes followed up Clint Dempsey with a nice goal of his own against Cuba on Saturday in the Gold Cup

Well, the United States Men’s National Team has certainly come out here on Saturday in the Gold Cup quarterfinals against Cuba and made a statement. Early on in the first half here, both Clint Dempsey and Gyasi Zardes have made their presence’s felt in a major way.

To get things started in this pivotal match up, Dempsey struck with a goal just four minutes into the match. It was a clear message to Cuba that the United States wanted to end this early. Well, not long after that, it was Zardes who decided that he wanted to chip in himself.

Now what should not be overlooked on this play is the effort from Fabian Johnson. This entire play was beautifully set up with how amazingly he placed the ball for Zardes to bang it into the net. Just a perfect all-around play here from the United States team, and from this point, it appears that a trip to the semifinals is on the way very shortly.
