With Kyle Busch winning his third race of the season, where does the No. 18 and the rest of NASCAR stand in the points standings?

Kyle Busch has done it yet again. Needing another great finish to further his climb up the points standings to secure himself a spot in “The Chase,” Kyle Busch pulled out another win at New Hampshire on Sunday.

Outlasting the rest of the field, Busch would win his third race out of four and would move up to 33rd in the points standings and just 53 out of 30th, which is where he has to be if he is going to be allowed to compete for a Sprint Cup Championship.

For all the doubters and skepticism by some who feel he shouldn’t be allowed to even have a chance after missing the early portion of the season, Busch is doing the right thing by winning races and silencing the critics.

As for the rest of the points, the top sure hasn’t changed much at all. Kevin Harvick‘s stronghold on the No. 1 spot is all but secure and will likely remain that way barring something unforeseen. The only thing really worth monitoring in the points now is Kyle Busch’s trek to the top-30 as anyone who has a win is more focused on the championship and getting ready for it now.

With Kyle Busch picking up another win, here are the updated points standings after New Hampshire.
