Sometimes, there is only one way to say something. Los Angeles Clippers forward Josh Smith is either an idiot, or the worst money manager on Earth this side of Latrell Sprewell.

On Tuesday, the NBA veteran talked to the Detroit Free Press about many things, including his new slary for 2015 of $6.9 million. For almost anybody alive, that would be the type of money one can only dream of. It would put generations through college and allow for an early, beautiful retirement. Most people would break their back for that type of money. Hell, most Americans do for a heck of a lot less.

Yet, Smith feels this is going to be a hardship for him and his loved ones, per Bleacher Report.

"“At the end of the day, you know, I do have a family,” he said. “So it is going to be a little harder on me this year. But I’m going to push through it, you know… I made a decision for me and my family.”"

What a clown. This is a guy who has consistently bounced around the NBA over the past five years, playing with the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets and Clippers. He has been an underachiever most of his career, playing a selfish brand of basketball without an ounce of defense to be found. Maybe if he is so damn worried about his family, he could trying moving on the defensive end, or not jacking up ill-advised shots, or staying in some kind of shape. Nope, not Josh Smith.

The average American makes $43,000 per year. Smith will make just over $84,000 per game. Last year, Smith scored 1,027 points. If he matches that total this year, which is highly unlikely considering he is about to see a decrease in playing time, he would be paid $6,718.59 for each one of them.

Maybe the fans at the Staples Center can take up a collection for Smith this year.
