Minnesota Vikings cornerback Jabari Price has been suspended two games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

With training camp right around the corner and set to begin, the Minnesota Vikings received some bad news when they were informed that were going to be without cornerback Jabari Price for two games.

According to USA Today Sports NFL writer Tom Pelissero, Price has violated the league’s substance-abuse policy and as a result will not be playing in the first two games for the Vikings this season.

Price, was arrested for driving intoxicated after the season-ending game against the Chicago Bears last year. He plead guilty to the charges. A remorseful Price released a statement through the NFLPA apologizing for his actions.

"“I sincerely apologize to my family, my teammates, the Vikings organization and Vikings fans for the mistake I made last winter. I can assure you that it will never happen again. I look forward to returning to helping my team on the field in week 3.”"

The Vikings already suffered a major blow to the cornerback position when Josh Robinson suffered a pectoral injury that will keep him from starting the season. Now to lose another cornerback for the first two games, the Vikings will have depth issues as they try to get off to a hot start.

They drafted Michigan State corner Trae Waynes in the first round of the draft this year, and also have first-round pick Xavier Rhodes on the roster.

Will the youngsters respond, or will the lack of depth take it’s toll on the young secondary? The good news for Vikings fans is that their young corners will pick up experience right away, and with the talent they potentially possess, that is something to be excited about.
