With the 2015 ACC football season approaching, it’s time to look at which five teams can realistically win the conference.

In 2014, the ACC had just as many teams in the College Football Playoff as the SEC, Pac-12 and Big Ten, but you can bet that this conference is the one with the most to prove and the one that everyone seems to be betting against for the upcoming season.

  • Although the Florida State Seminoles made it to the first-ever playoff last season and won the national title in 2013, there is still so much this conference lacks, according to national media outlets.

Many would agree that the ACC lacks depth, but this year that can be argued as many teams such as N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Miami, Duke and North Carolina all look to break the mold of the perennial powerhouses of the conference and contend for a crown.

Any one of the teams mentioned above could have a breakout season, win their respective division and contend for the conference title. If there is one thing the ACC will prove this season, it’s that there is depth to go around.

Taking a look at which five teams I believe have the best shot at winning the conference championship, it was hard to narrow it to that small of a number. In year’s past it could be narrowed to one or two, with obvious choices, but this season is different.

Sure, there’s a ton of departing talent in the conference such as Jameis Winston, Duke Johnson and DeVante Parker, to name a few, but it seems as if each team has been stacked and reloaded for the coming seasons.

Let’s take a look at the extremely difficult-to-narrow top five teams with the best shot at winning the ACC in 2015.
