My selections are tailored toward DraftKings scoring system but these picks can also be helpful in H2H formats with daily rosters where some of my recommended players may be available to pick up off the Waiver Wire. Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for FanDuel, but you should first understand the differences between each baseball scoring system before plugging players in both.

Here are my best picks for DraftKings lineups in the 15 game slate of MLB Games on Tuesday, July 28th starting at 7:05 p.m.

Good Luck!

  • Jose Fernandez (MIA) home vs. WAS for $12,700: Fernandez has been scintillating since returning from Tommy John surgery going 3-0 with a 2.77 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 25.7  FPPG in 4 starts.  He also has 32 Ks in 26 IP and faces a Nationals squad who is struggling at the plate in July scoring just 3.4 rpg, 26th in the majors. He’s at a season-high price tag, but should get you at least 20-30 FP here.

Sonny Gray (OAK) at LAD for $10,400: Richards is having a great season for the As with a 10-4 record, 2.31 ERA, and 1.01 WHIP. The star righty (21.4 FPPG) will take the mound at pitcher-friendly Dodger Stadium.  He might not get the win vs. LA, but with the Vegas run line at 6.5, expect a pitchers’ duel and a very good return on investment from Gray, who available at a very affordable $10,400.

2B Brandon Phillips (CIN) at STL (Garcia) for $3,600: Phillips (.276, 45 R, 5 HR, 32 RBI, 11 SB) is on a 9 game hitting-streak where he is 13 for 42 with 9 runs scored. He owns a decent .317 career average against Garcia with 2 HRs in 41 AB.  Look for him to take advantage of Garcia who is coming off his second DL stint of the season.

1B Chris Carter (HOU) home vs. LAA (Wilson) for $3,500: Carter is a huge slugger but is very inconsistent going .184 but with 16 HR and 43 RBI in 2015. He is hitless in his last 9 AB, but proceeding that was a 2 for 3 outing with a HR and 2 RBI vs. BOS at home on 7/21. Look for Carter to get on track for an affordable price against C.J. Wilson who he has owned in his career with a .333 BA (9 for 27) with 2 HR and 6 RBI. And lets not forget the benefits of Minute Maid Park.

  • OF Andrew McCutchen (PIT) home vs. MIN (Pelfrey) for $4,900: McCutchen (.292, 13 HR, 52 R, 61 RBI, 5 SB) is hot again and on a 5-game hitting streak. He holds an impressive lifetime .429 mark (6 for 14) with 3 RBIs, 2 BB, and 2 SB vs. Pelfrey (5-7, 3.94 ERA, 1.47 WHIP). Plus, Target Field is playing as a hitter’s park, 7th in Park Factor Runs (1.11) in 2015.

Tips for New Daily Fantasy League Players

OF Lorenzo Cain (KC) at CLE (Bauer) for $4,700: Cain is having an outstanding year hitting .313 with 62 R, 11 HR 46 RBI, and 18 SBs for an impressive 9.4 FPPG. He is 3 for 11 lifetime with a HR vs. Bauer who has given up 11 ER and 17 H/BB in 10 IP over his last two starts.
