The Baltimore Orioles are reportedly interested in Detroit Tigers outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

The Detroit Tigers seem to be content to ship off players ahead of Friday’s non-waiver trade deadline in Major League Baseball. They’ve already shipped starting pitcher David Price to the Toronto Blue Jays.

It looks like outfielder Yoenis Cespedes could be on his way out as well. The Baltimore Orioles are reportedly interested in Cespedes but they lack the prospects to make a deal for him according to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.

As of yesterday the New York Mets were also interested in Cespedes, but talks didn’t progress very far.

Given the lack of potential return in a deal with the Orioles, and the lack of progress with the Mets, it looks like Cespedes has a better chance of staying put than he does being shipped.

If a team were to get Cespedes he’d be a short term rental anyways because he becomes a free agent after this season. A team would have to really view Cespedes as a piece to put them in contention to make a run.
