79.
It took the Dallas Mavericks a while to win their first title in 2011, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t had an illustrious history filled with a handful of legendary players. Dirk Nowitzki is the obvious standout when thinking about great Mavericks players of all-time, but he’s joined by some very impressive company.

Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Ronaldo Blackman, Jason Terry and so many others came before and during Dirk’s time and deserve a spot in the all-time Mavs lineup with him. Only a select few can be in that rarified air, and picking out Dallas’ best lineup of all-time is a lot more challenging than you’d think.

<span style=. 1980 - Present. Western Conference. Dallas Mavericks. STEVE NASH. PG. There could be an argument made here for Jason Kidd, who had two stints with the Mavs including their 2011 title run, but Steve Nash at his best is hard to pass up. He was a stud for the Suns later in his career but he spent some of the best years of his career with the Mavericks. Having him lead an all-time Mavs lineup would be deadly.. Point Guard

SG. Blackman is a Mavs legend who you can more than count on if you put him on your all-time roster. Not only was he the most successful scorer the Mavs ever knew until Dirk Nowitzki came around, but he never fouled out of a game in his entire career in Dallas. So not only is he a scoring machine, but he’s nothing if not consistent about staying in games.. Shooting Guard. Dallas Mavericks. ROLANDO BLACKMAN

SF. A lot of people remember his exit from Dallas and his ensuing years in Detroit, but Mark Aguirre turned in some quality years with the Dallas Mavericks. He was supposed to be so much more than he was, but what he ended up being in Dallas was a fantastic anchor in the lineup, and one that could do serious damage if paired with Dirk Nowitzki and Roy Tarpley in the frontcourt.. Small Forward. Dallas Mavericks. MARK AGUIRRE

There are legendary Mavs players and then there is Dirk Nowitzki. The German-born future Hall of Famer has been the first truly iconic member of the Mavericks roster and is someone who would not only deserve a spot on the all-time roster but headline the starting five. He can score, he can lead and he’s an essential part of any Mavs lineup.. Power Forward. Dallas Mavericks. DIRK NOWITZKI. PF

C. Roy Tarpley doesn’t get the love he should when it comes to all-time big men. He’s not up there with Shaq, Walt or anyone like that, but he’s a true threat in the Mavs frontcourt and demonstrated that time and time again during his career. He’s a monster rebounder, and was an effective scoring threat as well, making him a dual threat that could be dangerous in a Big 3 of Dirk-Aguirre-Tarpley.. Center. Dallas Mavericks. ROY TARPLEY
