player. 73.
It’s been a while since the Nuggets have been any good, in fact recently it feels like they’ve been falling back into their old ways. But things haven’t always been bad in the Mile High, and throughout history the Nuggets have boasted some pretty spectacular rosters.

Unfortunately, the true stars have never aligned for Denver, and their title runs have all fallen short recently. But take the best parts of each of the past few teams and combine then, and all of a sudden you have something special.

<span style=. 1967 - Present. Western Conference. Denver Nuggets. 8

PG. He had two separate stints in Denver, but Chauncey Billups was perhaps the teams best point guard both times he played with the team. Best remembered for helping the Pistons win a title in 2004, the Nuggets leading an all-time lineup with Billups seems like a perfect place to start.. Point Guard. Denver Nuggets. CHAUNCEY BILLUPS

Denver Nuggets. DAVID THOMPSON. SG. He’s a Hall of Famer and a no brainer to be a part of the Nuggets all-time roster. There have been plenty of shooting guards to come through Denver over the years, but none compare to the All-Star and Hall of Fame power of Thompson.. Shooting Guard

SF. He never had the lineup he needed in Denver to make the team a winner — a theme that has plagued Melo’s career. But put him in an all-time lineup with Billups, Johnson, McDyess and Dikembe and all of a sudden Melo has a shot to not only win a title but beat some of the greatest lineups of all-time. It’s not the best lineup in history, but it’s up there.. Small Forward. Denver Nuggets. CARMELO ANTHONY

PF. Knicks fans don’t have fond memories of McDyess but there was a reason a ransom was paid to get him. The forward’s years in Denver were powerful and they helped solidify him as a Nuggets fan favorite and a player who demonstrated his prowess more than once. He could score, he could defend and putting him in the same frontcourt as Dikembe and Melo is a wet dream for Nuggets fans.. Power Forward. Denver Nuggets. ANTONIO MCDYESS

C. Dikembe got around in his career and just about everywhere he went, the big man left a mark. Just like he did in Atlanta, Dikembe was cocky in a humble way with the Nuggets and might be the best big man the franchise has ever had. No one comes close to matching Dikembe’s status as a legend with Denver.. Center. Denver Nuggets. DIKEMBE MUTUMBO
