19: Chicago White Sox

ACQUIRED: None

TRADED: 3B Conor Gillaspie (to Angels)

Given the hype of their offseason moves, the Chicago White Sox looked like a team that expected to win in 2015. Unfortunately they forgot to how to hit and were quickly relegated to the bottom of the tough AL Central division. So obviously they went into the deadline looking to sell right?

Unfortunately, the White Sox went on a decent run heading into the deadline and for some reason thought they still had a shot at the postseason. They chose to stand pat in hopes that they could play their momentum into a wild card slot. The problem is, they did absolutely nothing.

Yes, they have an outside shot at the postseason and one can hardly fault them for unloading Jeff Samardzija or another other players at the deadline in that regard. However, they also chose not to address any of their deficiencies either. Nothing was added at the deadline and very little was mentioned of the White Sox being involved in any major deals to improve the club.

Making a run at the playoffs is admirable, but treading water isn’t going to get them there.
