The NBA schedule will be released soon, but the annual Christmas Day games are being tentatively scheduled early.
We are still a few days away from the NBA schedule being released, but we’re starting to hear more and more about the potential games we could see. The annual Christmas Day games are always some of the first games announced on the schedule and that’s seemingly true of this year as well.
According to Marc Stein from ESPN.com, the Warriors and Cavaliers are going to meet up in an NBA Finals rematch on Christmas Day.
"An NBA Finals rematch is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 25, league sources told Marc Stein. Nothing is likely to be made official before next week, when the league is expected to release the schedule in full."
The NBA schedule hasn’t come out yet and nothing will be official until it does — but you could smell this one coming from a mile away.
Eery year the Knicks get the early game, the Clippers get the late game and two games fill in the middle of the day. Almost always, the NBA Finals champ from the previous year plays on Christmas and sometimes it’s a rematch of the game. This wasn’t the case last year, as the runner-up Heat played the Cavaliers on Christmas Day, but this year we’re going to be getting the match up we all want to see.
It’s more than just a rematch of the NBA Finals, it’s a showdown between two of the best teams in basketball. There’s a very good chance that we get the Warriors and Cavaliers in the NBA Finals again next season and this Christmas Day precursor is going to be a gift to the world we can all appreciate.
