WWE named new Divas stable after adult website?

WWE should probably do their research before they go about naming their next stable.

A couple of weeks after the debut of Charlotte and Becky Lynch on the main roster, their stable with Paige was finally given a name this past week on RAW. WWE apparently settled on the “Submission Sorority” as the name for the young group of talented Divas. On the surface, that’s a solid moniker for the group full of Divas who each have devastating submission finishes.

However, a little research on the part of WWE would have revealed that naming a stable “Submission Sorority” is an awful idea. That’s because, as reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Wrestling Inc), “Submission Sorority” also happens to be the name of an adult website.

I’m sure you can venture to guess why the WWE wouldn’t want their fans, particularly younger fans, searching for the “Submission Sorority” given what said adult website likely involves. The real question is how something this ridiculous slipped past the higher-ups in WWE before they went out on RAW and used that moniker for the stable.

It’s not like the creative team in WWE would have had to hire a private investigator to find out that there is an adult website with the same name. Literally all it would take would be a quick search on Google and it would be abundantly clear that “Submission Sorority” is not the right name to go with. That doesn’t seem too difficult of a concept, but apparently it is for WWE.

Obviously the company is now in the business of finding a new name for the stable with “The Submission Sisters” being mentioned by name. Moreover, the involvement of Charlotte led to the “Horsewomen” being tossed out there, but possible future business with Ronda Rousey has the company tentative about using that title. Rousey and her team call themselves the “Four Horsewomen.”

Whatever WWE eventually lands on as the new name for Paige, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch, I’d bet that they take the five seconds to Google it before they go out and say it on RAW. Maybe now that will become standard protocol so that silly mistakes like this can be avoided in the future.
