Head coach Gus Bradley is headed into his third year with the Jaguars. The former defensive coordinator with the Seattle Seahawks faces a moment in which he needs to turn around this struggling franchise. If he is going to do it, he needs the defense to carry the day while second-year quarterback Blake Bortles and a rebuilt offensive line find their stride.

This is a group that has some talent, although the secondary looks like one of the worst in football. It is tough to win in today’s NFL if you struggle to cover man-to-man, and Jacksonville is undoubtedly going to have that problem. With Demetrius McCray, Dwayne Gratz and Davon House on the outside, teams with quality quarterbacks and receivers are going to enjoy huge days if the pass rush doesn’t get home.

Sen’Derrick Marks had a breakout year for the Jaguars last year at defensive tackle, and needs to continue his maturation. New addition Jared Odrick and defensive end Chris Clemons must provide additional pass rush, while middle linebacker Paul Posluszny needs to stop the run. If the front seven can create havoc, last year’s 26th-ranked unit can see improvement.
