To say there is little defense being played at the Team USA showcase in Las Vegas would be an understatement. Every time the ball gets the paint on either end of the floor defenders seem to run in the opposite direction content to just relax and allow a player to score the ball. As it turns out DeMar DeRozan should have taken that tactic a bit further instead of trying to slow Klay Thompson down on a fast break.

Just look at the concentration on Klay’s face from the moment that he got the idea to go between DeRozan’s legs. Tongue out, eyes focused on where the ball needs to go, it was just a perfect job by Thompson all the way up until the lob which was just a bit low and prevented Terrance Jones from getting a dunk. DeRozan for his part took the play in stride, understanding that the point of the contest was to have fun. Considering he never even moved or turned around after Klay’s successful nutmeg, I would just assume that even DeMar had a laugh at the play. The game just reached halftime with the White Team leading the Blue Team 67-60. Like I said, not much defense is being played.
