Todd Gurley to miss start of regular season
The St. Louis Rams are expected to be a much-improved team in 2015. In the fourth year of the Jeff Fisher/ Les Snead leadership group, the Rams are excited with an offense led by quarterback Nick Foles. Part of the excitement has to do with first-round pick, running back Todd Gurley.

However, the anticipation of see Gurley will be put on hold as the team has said it is likely the University of Georgia star won’t be available early in the regular season, per NFL.com. Gurley also talked about the situation on Sirius XM radio, saying that he is not pushing his body back too soon after tearing his ACL last fall while in college.
"“Right now, we’re not pushing anything,” Gurley said. “It’s kind of taking it day-by-day and week-by-week. Whether it’s Week 5 or Week 1, 10 years from now nobody is going to remember what you did the first five games. You’ve just got to take it easy.”"
With Gurley still working out at training camp but not ready for contact, the Rams will be relying on second-year back Tre Mason to carry the load. While Foles is expected to be the focal point of the offense, he will have a chore when trying to rack up the yardage. St. Louis is without a true vertical threat, instead relying on tight ends Lance Kendricks and Jared Cook, and receivers Kenny Britt and Brian Quick.
St. Louis also has a tough schedule coming out of the gate. In Week 1, the Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks before traveling to play the Washington Redskins. After that, St. Louis returns home for the Pittsburgh Steelers, then get road dates versus the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers.
