26. San Francisco 49ers

How could anybody be bullish on the San Francisco 49ers this season? This is a team that was considered a dynasty in the making back in 2012, and now could be one of the worst teams in the league. After watching Frank Gore, Mike Iupati, Anthony Davis and Michael Crabtree leave the team, this is an offense that is completely dependent on Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick has a rocket arm and electric running ability, but he has struggled to go through progressions and make accurate throws. Much too often we see Kaepernick lock onto a receiver and force a throw. Other times Anquan Boldin or Vernon Davis have been wide open, only to airmail the throw. Frankly, there is not much reason to believe he is going to suddenly improve.

The signing of Reggie Bush is a good one, although he has dealt with injuries before. Bush is more of a complimentary player than a work horse. The signing of Torrey Smith does take advantage of Kaepernick’s arm strength, so that’s a plus. Kaepernick must take the next step and become an elite quarterback. Otherwise, this offense is stuck in the mud.
