Before we get to the socks, let’s talk about the above photo, first of all. How did I miss Kristaps Porzingis throwing the first pitch at a Mets game? Look at that form. It’s questionable at best, but we can cut him a little slack here, considering there’s a pretty strong chance he’d never thrown a baseball in his life to this point. The terror in his eyes. I’d imagine this whole process is very stressful.

Anyway, we’re still about two months away from Porzingis officially making his debut in the NBA, but he’s wasted little time in getting acclimated to his new lifestyle.

Stance Socks was announced earlier this year as the NBA’s new official sock-provider, and surely you’re well aware by now of their vast array of nifty, basketball-themed footwear. Courtesy of Porzingis’ Instagram, it looks like he’s gotten his hands on some sweet Stance gear of his own. But these aren’t just any socks…

Well then! Fire emoji, indeed, Kristaps. Yes, the Knicks rookie is now the proud owner of a pair of Phil Jackson Stance socks. Are they really his favorites, though? Or is he just suckin’ up to the boss? Regardless, I love the Kristaps Porzingis era already.
