Subway released a game that lets kids play with Jared Fogle’s pants

Jared Fogle is going away for a long time for being a creep, but Subway is going to have a hard time running away from their association with him.

Almost as soon as Jared Fogle was linked to a child porn case, the company cut their ties with him and instantly went into damage control mode. For the most part, it’s worked as the backlash has been minimal and it all seems like it will blow over thanks to the company not knowing anything about Fogle’s sick obsessions.

The only thing that would drag Subway into this mess is if they somehow did something very stupid or something that could be interpreted as in poor taste.

Something like a game that allows children to play with Jared Fogle’s pants.

That’s exactly what happened, and Subway is scrambling to make us unsee something that will forever be associated with this incident. The company has removed the game but it’s forever going to stick in our memory as one of the most ill-timed things that could have ever happened.

The game would allow kids to use a pair of Jared’s blue jeans to catch footlong sandwiches, bottles of water and other snacks sold at Subway.

Subway really didn’t want this to happen, but then again you don’t feel that bad for them. At the end of the day, they probably should have done a better job of keeping an eye on Fogle and making sure he’s not — ya know, harboring child porn. There’s letting your spokesman be his own person and then letting Fogle do what he did.

The list of people dropped as spokespersons for companies based on what they said is long and tedious, which leaves Subway in a bad spot for not keeping an eye on the face of their company a little better than this.
