Some fans go above and beyond to make sure they pay tribute to their favorite teams and athletes. You hear about it every day; a fan pained a team logo on his front lawn or some guy shaved a player’s face into his head. Tattoos are also a rising trend of sports fandom.

Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan were, at one time, in the discussion for best player of all time. Although I have been a huge fan of Kobe for my entire life, that debate would easily have to go to MJ, despite the multiple rings also won by Bryant.

Apparently one fan couldn’t decide whether he was a Kobe or MJ fan, so he decided to get both players’ faces tattooed onto his body — facing each other.

What do I mean by this? Just take a look:

Well, the artwork is nearly flawless, but the idea of having two giant faces of basketball players tattooed on your calves just seems a bit poorly planned out.

What’s going to happen when we tell this guy that the debate of who is the best player of all time happens to be between Michael Jordan and LeBron James? He’s going to feel pretty silly for getting Kobe’s face tattooed on one leg.

Maybe for his next tattoo, he can get LeBron and MJ tattooed on each arm so when they are down at his sides, they’re looking across his back at each other.

OK, that was a terrible suggestion.

I get that this guy ‘loves this game’ but he went a bit too far. I love football, basketball and baseball, but you don’t see me with Barry Sanders, Michael Jordan and Babe Ruth tattoos. That’s just ridiculous.

Then again, it’s his money, so why not spend it on two guys who are no longer in debate for best player of all time?

Maybe his love for Kobe and MJ is so deep that — OK, I have nothing.

One thing is for sure, though. It would have been cool to see Kobe and MJ face off against each other for a more extended period of time rather than just the end of Michael’s career.

These are two of the greatest players to ever pick up a basketball and this fan honored them in the only way he could think of.
