The MLB series between the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays was named the series to watch this week.

Every week, Sports Illustrated and ScoreBig names the best series to watch in Major League Baseball. This week the series between the Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays gets the nod.

The Blue Jays were active participants in the trade deadline, shoring up their roster for a postseason run and have expectedly been playing well since.

The Rangers’ rise into contention has been a bit more surprising. They’ve won 22 of 35 games in the back half of the season and climbed into the No. 2 spot in the Wild Card.

At this moment the Blue Jays and New York Yankees share the same record atop the American League East division, and also the first Wild Card spot round. This series will have a huge impact on the Blue Jays standing heading into the final month of the season and whether they’re chasing a division title or clinging to a Wild Card spot.

Here are the other series to tune into, via the Watchability Rankings:

  • Astros vs. Yankees, Aug. 24–26
  • Angels vs. Tigers, Aug. 25–27
  • Twins vs. Rays, Aug. 25–27
  • Orioles vs. Royals, Aug. 25–27
  • Cubs vs. Dodgers, Aug. 28–30
  • Cardinals vs. Giants, Aug. 28–30
