Another major NFL player might have suffered a season-ending injury.

Injuries are always an issue in the NFL, but there seems to be an epidemic in the league right now when it comes to players with massive names getting injured before the regular season even starts. Already names like Jordy Nelson and Dante Fowler will not be called this year as they’ll be sitting on the sidelines nursing themselves back to health after ACL injuries.

The Washington Redskins have joined that list now — expect not because of an ACL injury.

According to Ian Rapport from NFL Network, the Redskins fear that Junior Galette has suffered a torn achilles tendon.

This would be yet another season ending injury to a major player for a team this preseason. It would also be the end to a tumultuous year for Galette, who was released by the Saints over a domestic abuse situation and flamed the Saints on his way out the door. There was more than a little controversy when the Redskins signed Galette to a contract, but this if he misses the season then that will put an end to at least the controversy of seeing him on the field.

What this also does is highlights more injury woes for the NFL. These aren’t small name players trying to make the roster — these are huge stars with big contracts getting hurt on the field.
