New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter trolled a fan by Rickrolling him and it was hilarious.

Derek Jeter is in his post-baseball career. The Players’ Tribune has become his project, a forum for athletes to write and get out their own thoughts or share their story.

Jeter also takes time out to write on the site and recently held a mailbag session with fans, answering their questions. One fan asked a question about Jeter and how he kept his personal life private as social media flourished, not without throwing a little shade by questioning whether or not it was actually Jeter.

That’s when the Captain decided to troll this fan.

Here is the exchange as presented on the site:

"I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that this is Derek Jeter. It’s interesting that you managed to stay mostly private throughout your career even as social media became more popular. I like that it connects athletes with fans, but there’s also a bunch of cases where it’s gone bad. Overall, has the rise of social media been a good thing for athletes? –Alex, ChicagoIt’s definitely complicated. I haven’t been active on social media, but I actually just got a Twitter. Check it out."

Did you click on the link to check out Jeter’s Twitter account? If you did you found out it leads you to a video of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

That’s right, Jeter just Rickrolled some fan.
