Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford hit Golden Tate with a huge touchdown pass on Friday night.

Now it is still the preseason, so there isn’t a whole lot to get excited about. Still, when you see you’re starting quarterback throwing 62-yard touchdowns to a star wide receiver you can’t help but get excited.

That is what fans of the Detroit Lions are going through after watching Matthew Stafford launch a 62-yard touchdown bomb to Golden Tate.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson is one of the best in the league and unquestionably the best on the Lions roster, but seeing Tate make plays like that of a No. 1 receiver has to have Lions fans feeling optimistic about the season. That touchdown grab, while meaningless essentially, could move Tate up a few Lions fans’ fantasy football draft boards.
