The Blue Jays are having their way with the Tigers on Saturday and Edwin Encarnacion is a big part of that
The Toronto Blue Jays are proving over and over this season that they’re one of the best teams in all of baseball, and make no mistake about it, they have their sights set on a potential World Series berth. They’re such a successful team this year because they have a lot of the necessary pieces in place, especially when it comes to hitters at the plate.
On Saturday against the Detroit Tigers, it was Edwin Encarnacion’s turn to take center stage and have himself a day at the dish.
Currently the Blue Jays are obliterating the Tigers in the 8th inning, 15-1. Just a short time ago in the seventh inning, Encarnacion hit a grand slam to give the Jays a 13-1 lead at the time as well as give him his third bomb of the afternoon.
Yes, a three home run day for Encarnacion on Saturday. First, there was a three-run shot in the first inning.
Then, he followed that up with a line drive shot in the sixth inning.
Finally, here’s the grand slam just an inning later.
Have yourself a day, Edwin Encarnacion.
