San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Bruce Ellington was gone for a touchdown before the San Diego Chargers could even touch him.

Bruce Ellington is the definition of speed.

Thursday night in the San Francisco 49ers’ final preseason game, Bruce Ellington opened up the scoring in the first minute for the 49ers as he took a pass from Dylan Thompson and went through the Chargers defense before they even noticed him.

That might be putting it lightly. They didn’t even touch him.

While half the 49ers left the team in the off-season, Ellington is one of the key players the team is relying on going forward. His speed dynamic can change games if he can get in open space. Pairing Ellington along with Torrey Smith and Reggie Busch creates a speed dynamic that could be deadly for San Francisco.

Add in the legs of Colin Kaepernick, and the 49ers could still have a pretty dynamic offense despite all the losses that they have suffered. If Ellington can continue to make plays like this, and he will get a chance to, then he will become a breakout star that San Francisco needs.

The 49ers may have lost a lot in the off-season, but they still have guys that can burn a team in a moment’s notice.
