5. Too much talent

This may come as a given. The Orioles have so much talent on a roster that made the playoffs one season ago and swept the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, but their struggles have come at the most inopportune time.

  • Going up and down the roster, you see guys like Zach Britton, Manny Machado, Chris Davis, Adam Jones, Chris Tillman, Ubaldo Jimenez, Matt Wieters and the list could go on. It’s hard to think that those group of guys are having a tough time stringing together a couple wins to gain momentum for a playoff run.

However, that’s exactly what’s going on right now.

The Orioles haven’t won consecutive games since the middle of August and time is running out, but these guys have a grasp on what it takes to make a run.

Offensively, this team could be one of the best in the league, but the struggles at the plate lately have hampered the Orioles’ success.

Talent seemingly always prevails, though, as it will be tough to keep this team of All-Star caliber players down.

Between Machado, Davis, Jones and Wieters, the Orioles could have one of the more devastating middle of the orders in all of baseball, so watch out.
