30 members of The Late Late Show staff still weren’t enough to defeat Chris Bosh in a game of basketball.

Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat has been one of the NBA’s top power forwards for the last decade, which is why he’s been an All-Star every season since 2005-06. So, when you put that talent against the likes of James Corden, Jason Sudeikis and 28 other members of The Late Late Show staff, it’s only inevitable that Bosh still came out on top.

In a game that Corden and Bosh called “1-on-30”, the Heat star was able to dwarf every staff member throughout the countless ways they tried to attack the basket. From swatting Corden’s layup out of the make-shift court with ease, to avoiding Sudeikis burying his shot after a pump fake that involved him clutching the ball between his legs, Chris Bosh reminded everyone just how much NBA players tower over everyone else.

For a player like Bosh, who has only averaged 1.1 blocks per game throughout his career, the opportunity to deny the hopeful attempts of some amateur competition would have been an enjoyable experience. It’s hardly straining, but at least it’s some nice easy practice to pass the time till the 2015-16 NBA season starts.

That being said, the amount of goaltending in the clip above can hardly be ignored. In fact, probably half of the staff’s attempts were ‘blocked’ by goaltending. Bosh denied some with ease, but many of the shots were well and truly on their way down before being swatted away. Unfortunately for Corden and his crew, there was no ref nearby to reward them with any points.

Although, seeing as he spent most of the game chatting on his phone, it’s hardly surprising Bosh didn’t give his full attention to legal defense.

It wasn’t until all 30 crew members decided to hoist a shot at the last second that Bosh finally moved away from the basket but was there really any other way Corden could have won?

Basketball skills aside, it’s safe to say that there’s nothing James Corden won’t do to try and entertain his audience.
