Miami Dolphins vs. Washington Redskins: Full highlights, final score and more
The Miami Dolphins came back from a large deficit to defeat the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
It was a disappointing home-opener for the Washington Redskins in Week One against the Miami Dolphins. Injuries coupled with a blown lead will only heighten frustrations in the nation’s capital.
Early in the contest, DeSean Jackson went down with a hamstring injury following a long pass play and would not return to the game. Despite being without one of his primary weapons, Kirk Cousins guided Washington to a 10-0 lead thanks to a touchdown strike to Jordan Reed late in the second quarter. Unfortunately for the Redskins, that was as bright as things would be.
Ryan Tannehill would lead an efficient nine-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in the half’s final 1:22 and close Miami’s halftime deficit to 10-7. After a scoreless third quarter, the Dolphins would post 10 points in the final period, capped off by a 69-yard punt return touchdown by Jarvis Landry.
Thanks to 17 unanswered points, Miami would win the game, 17-10.
