The NFL has reinstated John Jastremski and Jim McNally after their roles in Deflategate

Tom Brady’s four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate was lifted after Judge Richard M. Berman’s ruling and the New England Patriots quarterback has already played and won in Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season. Now two of the lesser known figures in the Deflategate controversy are on track to getting back to their business as usual, namely John Jastremski and Jim McNally.

Jastremski and McNally, two former ball boys for the Patriots who worked their way up in the hierarchy of the organization, were cited in the Wells Report for aiding and abetting the “crimes” of Deflategate. On Wednesday afternoon, the NFL announced that both Jastremski and McNally would be reinstated, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

While the pair of Patriots staffers has been reinstated, it’s still uncertain what their roles will be within the franchise moving forward. There’s a chance that the roles in which they held when they were implicated in Deflategate will not be where the re-enter the organization.

Regardless of where Jastremski and McNally wind up in the Patriots organization, it seems pretty obvious that everything regarding Deflategate is finally dying down. After dominating headlines in the NFL for months, this saga is coming to a close and the actual football can return to being the primary focus. That being said, I’m sure there will still be roughly 1 billion more Deflategate jokes over the course of the rest of the season.
