The New York Jets and New York Mets are good at the same time here in late September and they couldn’t be happier

Sometimes, being a New York sports fan is not the easiest thing in the world. Well, more specifically, things are not easy when you’re a fan of the New York Jets and the New York Mets. These are the two professional sports franchises in the Big Apple that have not enjoyed much success as of late.

However, after Monday night following their win over the Indianapolis Colts, the Jets sit at 2-0 on the year, something not many people predicted. After losing starting quarterback Geno Smith after he got clocked in the jaw by a teammate, things were not looking good. Well, so far, they’re pretty darn good, especially on defense.

Then, of course, we have the Mets. Here they are in late September with October on the horizon and they’re holding a seven-game lead in the National League East, meaning they’re playoff bound. Yes, the New York Mets are looking like a legitimate World Series contender.

This feeling is new to fans of both these New York teams, so as you can imagine, they’re pretty happy about it all.
