Welcome back to Last night in the WNBA Playoffs, a running post you’ll see throughout the next month or so as we march towards the crowning of a new WNBA champion.

Minnesota Lynx 67 – Phoenix Mercury 60 (Lynx up 1-0)

Another WNBA Western Conference Finals, another matchup between the Lynx and the Mercury. Let’s get into it.

The Mercury jumped out to an early lead as DeWanna Bonner got involved early and often. She scored or assisted on all of the Mercury’s first 10 points.

But you knew the Lynx weren’t going to just sit around and let the Mercury dominate at Target Center.

Just like that, it was the Lynx on top. And once they got that lead back, they never surrendered it.

***DRAFT LOTTERY ALERT***

***OKAY BACK TO THE GAME***

The second half was a closely contested affair, but no matter how close the Mercury got, the Lynx kept fending them off, clinging desperately to the lead.

I mean…..SHHHEEEEEESSSHHHHHH.

Maya was awesome as usual, dropping 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. But last night was the Rebekkah Brunson show. She came up huge for Minnesota, playing all 40 minutes on the way to 13 points, 19 (!!!!!!) rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
