52. Final. 51. 47. 17

The Jacksonville Jaguars faced a tall task heading into Sunday’s matchup in Gillette Stadium against the fiery New England Patriots, and unfortunately for them things ended up turning out mainly as projected. New England attacked through the air, on the ground and via special teams en route to a waxing of the overmatched visitors.

Tom Brady put up another stellar performance, going 33-for-42 and tossing two touchdowns – one apiece to Danny Amendola (5 receptions, 39 yards) and Keshawn Martin (3 receptions, 33 yards). Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman failed to find paydirt, but both racked up the yardage, notching 101 and 85 yards respectively.

On the ground, LeGarrette Blount pummeled Jacksonville with 78 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Birthday boy Dion Lewis (8 rushes, 37 yards) also found the end zone once on the day.

Jacksonville lost the turnover battle, 1-0, and never could gain any traction on the day. Blake Bortles was a lackluster 17-for-33 and as a team the Jaguars rushed for a paltry 57 yards.

For the second consecutive week the Pats posted over 40 points.
