It’s never too early to start speculating about the next season’s NFL draft.

It seems ridiculous to start talking about the 2016 draft when we are only in Week 3 of the regular season. After all, between now and the 2016 draft we have to endure several dark, depressing, football-free months. There is a lot of quality football– and mistake-ridden, sloppy football if the trend continues– to enjoy before May rolls around.

Without any intent of hastening the end of the 2015 season, here is our first look at the 2016 draft. And, if you keep in mind that there are already a slew of 2017 draft predictions out there, it is high time to think about team needs and potential draft picks for 2016.s

Draft projections change weekly based on the outcome of NFL and NCAA games, but they can be a source of hope for fans of floundering NFL teams, and a source of pride for hard-core NCAA fans wondering if their favorite player will make it big as a professional.

With the number of surprises in the NFL and the NCAA this season, draft projections could be even more fluid than usual, unless someone has an insider relationship with Miss Cleo or one of Dionne Warwick’s psychic friends.

Here’s a first regular-season shot at projections. The order of the teams is largely based on power rankings.
