Yes. A cornerback could go this high in the draft. Florida Gators cornerback Vernon Hargreaves is a special player who will not be on the board long, especially since the Titans are in desperate need of a cornerback; it’s a different kind of dire.

How dire? Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel looked like a Pro Bowler against their secondary. It doesn’t matter how good quarterback Marcus Mariota is, the team can’t win if they keep giving up so many big plays.

Hargreaves suffered a back injury in this weekend’s game and a minor leg injury earlier in the season. As we saw with Todd Gurley, even a serious injury– like a torn ACL– won’t keep an absurdly talented player on the board very long. Plus, the severity of Hargreaves latest injury is unknown.

What is known is that a healthy Hargreaves has the skills to rehabilitate the ailing Titans secondary. He is so athletic and such a playmaker that the Gators have used him some on the offensive side of the ball. On the defensive side of the ball, he has rendered himself indispensable with 88 tackles, six interceptions, and 24 passes defensed in just two seasons.
