The NFL is hellbent on suspending Tom Brady, and might get their chance in 2016.

When the NFL thought they had nailed Tom Brady with a four-game suspension over his role in DeflateGate, it was a test beating movement to end all chest beating moments we’ve seen before from Roger Goodell. So you can understand the anger over Brady slipping out of that suspension and running up the score on helpless defenses over the course of the first three weeks of the season this year.

But the NFL is hot for Brady and suspending him over destroying his phone when asked to turn it in. They’re so hot and bothered for him that they’re still pursuing a suspension for the Patriots quarterback and have gotten far enough along in the appeal process to get another hearing.

According to Michael McCann though, that’s something that isn’t going happen until the beginning of 2016 at the earliest.

This doesn’t mean that Brady will indeed be suspended either. The NFL has simply gotten someone to hear their case again after the lower courts overruled the suspension of Brady. Either way, this simply confirms the fact that Brady will play the entire 2015 season and not serve out a suspension this year.

He’s not out of the woods — apparently — but he’s going to at least play this season out while we all prep for the reboot of DeflateGate this offseason.

Same time, same place.
