After what happened on Thursday night, the Steelers are in search for a new kicker

The Pittsburgh Steelers could easily be 4-0 right now, but they are 2-2 and are in that position largely due to the incompetence of kicker Josh Scobee.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Steelers will be holding tryouts for the kicker position, implying that Scobee is on his way out the door.

Scobee played a large role in the Steelers losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, as he missed two field goals in the fourth quarter. The Steelers blew a 20-7 lead and were unable to put the game away in regulation, as Scobee’s misses forced the game into overtime.

The Ravens completed their comeback with a 52-yard field goal from Justin Tucker, and Scobee received severe backlash from Steelers fans, including rapper Snoop Dogg.

This is not the first time Scobee has put on a poor performance for the Steelers, as he also missed two field goals in the season opener against the New England Patriots. The Steelers may have been able to mount a comeback if Scobee made all of his field goals, as the Patriots won that game by seven points.

It is unknown how many kickers will audition for the Steelers, but former Washington Redskins kicker Kai Forbath is reported to be in the running.

The Steelers have been scrambling to find a replacement for Shaun Suisham, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the preseason. They eventually acquired Scobee from the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he has only made 60 percent of his field goals with the Steelers.
