The Miami Dolphins reportedly will decide coach Joe Philbin’s fate by tomorrow

The Miami Dolphins players and current head coach Joe Philbin obviously aren’t seeing eye-to-eye after Week Four of the 2015 NFL season. A team expected to be a possible sleeper in the AFC sits at 1-3 through four games and hasn’t shown many signs of life. This dismal start to the year unsurprisingly has people calling for Philbin’s job.

After the loss to the New York Jets in London in Week Four, a game that was reportedly going to decide Philbin’s fate, the hot seat is boiling lava now for the head coach. Yet no decision has been made thus far. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, we won’t be waiting for an official word much longer.

Florio reports that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross will make a deicison about Philbin’s future with the organization by Monday. Florio also reports that a great deal of the decision will come down to ownership’s desire to show players that they are committed to improving the team and the currently poor situation in place.

Given that Ross’ decision will be coming quicker than expected and the bit about wanting to make players feel better about the direction of the team given the bad situation right now, Philbin looks like he’s a sitting duck in that head coaching job. We know the announcement will be made by tomorrow, which means Philbin should probably get a jump on packing up his office once the team gets back from London.
