With the 2015 MLB playoffs getting underway on Tuesday, here is a look at the nine biggest stars to watch this postseason.

The MLB playoffs provide a unique opportunity for star players to establish their spot in baseball greatness.

Madison Bumgarner is a perfect example, as his pitching display in the 2014 Fall Classic instantly went down as an all-time classic and earned him World Series MVP honors. The San Fransisco Giants ace gave up just one run in 21 innings pitched, and pitched five shutout innings to clinch the deciding Game 7 over the Kansas City Royals.

Then there is Reggie Jackson. Jackson was a first-ballot Hall of Fame player, but he is remembered most for hitting three consecutive home runs to clinch the 1977 World Series for the New York Yankees.

One thing both of these players had in common is they were unquestioned stars during the regular season, a near prerequisite for postseason stardom. There are players who come out of nowhere and provide a spark for their teams, but the players who can turn a series around with an individual performance are typically those who have established themselves as reliable impact players who can dominate a game either on the mound or at the plate.

The 2015 MLB playoffs provides plenty of star power. Here are nine players with the potential to become postseason legends this October.
