The Boston Celtics are currently over in Europe preparing for the 2015-16 NBA season by taking on some European teams. While the time difference between Europe and the United States could provide for some getting used to for the Celtics players, it apparently has allowed David Lee to channel his 2009 self.

I have no idea exactly what poor Real Madrid soul got dunked on, but that is impressive from Lee. Real is a decent European team with a group of former NBA players on the roster, so it wasn’t against a scrub.

Perhaps the most impressive part of the play was that it really doesn’t look like Lee was looking to score on the play at all, as he seemed to be staring at Jae Crowder who was making a backdoor cut. When that wasn’t open Lee quickly transitioned into score mode and took full advantage of the chance.

Considering Lee finished the game with 13 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in just 21 minutes, the Celtics may want to consider asking the NBA to play games in Europe more often. While it remains to be seen exactly what Lee can bring the Celtics this season this has to be nice to see. After battling injuries for the past few seasons, Lee showing the kind of quickness and elevation required to throw down this dunk is a great sign.

Behind Lee Boston finished out their European trip 2-0 after a 111-96 win on Thursday and now heads back stateside to finish out their preseason schedule with games against the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
