The USC Trojans suffered their second loss of the season on Thursday, dropping one to unranked Washington at home
The USC Trojans were supposed to have an easy time on Thursday night as they welcomed in a Washington team into the Coliseum, but that was indeed not the case. As a matter of fact, when all was said and done in this one, the No. 17 team in the country was beaten by the Huskies at home, 17-12.
In the first half, we really saw nothing that resembled exciting football, as the two teams just traded field goals. After 30 minutes of play, the score was 6-3 in favor of the Trojans, letting you know that something big might be on the horizon.
The third quarter of this one saw Washington take the lead for the first time, a lead that they would not give up the rest of the way. They pulled out the tricks when Marvin Hall fired off a pass to a wide-open Joshua Perkins for the score and the 10-6 lead at that point.
Early in the fourth quarter, a Myles Gaskin one-yard run put Washington up 17-6 at that point. With 12 minutes to go, a Ronald Jones rushing score of his own would bring USC to within 17-12, but play-calling the rest of the way would kill the Trojans and they were upset at home by that 17-12 score.
