Texas head coach Charlie Strong has been under a microscope since the minute he was hired to replace Mack Brown, and thanks to a trying season his seat has heated up. The Longhorns entered their game against No. 10 Oklahoma with a 1-4 record, so Strong’s job was thought to be as good as gone by many people.

However, Texas pulled off a shocking upset over its biggest rival with a 24-17 victory to improve to 2-4, and Strong achieved his biggest career win to date. His tenure at Texas has been underwhelming thus far, as the Longhorns finished with a 6-7 record in his first season. While they currently possess a sub-.500 record, the Longhorns may finally see that culture change that Strong has been striving to bring if they can build momentum from this iconic win.

Despite Texas’ slow start this season, Strong continues to be one of the most respected coaches across the league for his experience and class. Prominent sports figures and fans alike took to Twitter to express their happiness for Strong while paying him compliments. Here’s a sampling.
