Odell Beckham Jr. made the 49ers defense look silly because that’s kind of his thing

Sunday Night Football featured the New York Giants looking to take advantage of a struggling San Francisco 49ers team. Through most of the first three quarters, though, the game had devolved into a low-scoring affair. Of course, that only meant it was time to cue Odell Beckham Jr.’s music and let him do something impressive.

With the Giants driving, Beckham ran just a short in route at about the 15-yard line. He made the catch easily, but then just eviscerated the ankles of the Niners defense as he cut back to the outside and then punched the turbo button to blow by the rest of the defense and make his way into the end zone:

When people talk about OBJ’s talent, the conversation always seems to revolve around his athleticism and his ability to make absurd one-handed catches. It’s little facets of his game like his awareness and ability to change directions on a dime that far too often go underappreciated.

In summary, Odell Beckham is really damn good at the game of football and the 49ers don’t have anyone on their defense that can do a whole lot about trying to limit him showing that.
