Chase Utley was announced at Citit Field on Monday and it went exactly how we all expected it would

Monday night sees Game 3 of the NLDS take place between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets, and of course everyone was looking forward to how Chase Utley would be received by the Mets fans. Actually, it’s not so much wondering how he would be received, rather we were all wondering just how loudly he would be booed out of the stadium.

Well, just a short time ago he was officially announced when it was time for the Dodgers to be introduced and the Mets fans did not disappoint one bit with their reception.

Yep, that was about everything we expected that it would be. These Mets fans have been preparing for this the past couple days and they came through.

For anyone who does not know, for one reason or another, why Utley is hated so much by Mets fans. It has a little something to do with a dirty slide in Game 2 out in Los Angeles that ended up fracturing the leg of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada.

Utley was suspended because of the incident, but because he appealed, he is part of the roster for tonight’s game.
