J.R. Smith needed a sweet snack midway through a Cavs preseason game

The Cleveland Cavaliers and J.R. Smith seem to be an unlikely yet serendipitous match in the NBA. The Cavs desperately needed a scorer on the wing and Smith desperately needed an NBA team not named the New York Knicks. Thus, the two parties came together and decided to stay together this offseason when Smith re-signed with Cleveland.

Now the veteran guard is getting primed for a title run in Cavaliers preseason action. Of course, Smith does that a bit differently than most. While most players are developing a rapport with their teammates and picking up the new intricacies of the playbook, Smith is out here just picking up some cotton candy in the crowd during the game:

Some might call this unprofessional and some may call this immature. I call it one of the greatest moments in NBA history. One day we will all tell our grandkids about the time that former Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith bought cotton candy while his team was playing and while he was active because he’s just that carefree and that entertaining.

Then maybe we’ll tell them about Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and the rest of those guys, but only if there’s time after J.R. Smith.
