Check out what New York Mets fans on Twitter had to say following their defeat of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.

The New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers went through a grueling NLDS over the past week. Over 100 strikeouts were totaled, tensions were high and bones were fractured. However, in Game 5 of the series, the Mets would secure the victory 3-2 to clinch a spot in the NLCS against the Chicago Cubs, who defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in four games.

This will be Mets’ first time in the NLCS since 2006 when they lost to the Cardinals in 7 games. It’s a moment that many Mets fans thought wouldn’t happen again after Carlos Beltran left the bat on his shoulders in Game 7 against Adam Wainwright.

As expected, Mets fans took to Twitter to go wild over this victory.

Now it will come down to the Mets or the Cubs for a spot in the World Series. Before the 2015 season started, if you asked any baseball fan who would represent the National League in the final series of the year, who would have said the Mets or Cubs?

It’s crazy how this sport works sometimes but this is why October baseball is rivaled by very few things in sports.
