Utah vs USC 2015 betting odds: Trojans open up as the surprising favorite

The USC Trojans are getting some love from the people in Las Vegas, even though they’re playing one of the best teams in the country

With their loss to Notre Dame on Saturday night, the USC Trojans dropped to 3-3 on the season as the drama continues in Los Angeles after coming into the season with such high hopes and lofty goals. However, that hasn’t stopped the folks in Las Vegas from seeing something in them, even if they’re playing maybe the best team in their conference.

This Saturday night in LA, the Trojans will be taking on the undefeated Utah Utes, a game in which you’d expect USC to be maybe a pretty big underdog. Well, not only are they not the underdog in this one, but it’s actually the exact opposite.

Opening on Sunday, USC is a three-point favorite at home against the No. 3 Utes.


Aside from USC being at home, you really struggle to find the reasoning behind this. Utah has done nothing this season but prove that they’re for real, while on the flip side of that, USC has been quite the disappointment all around. For the most part, actually, it might still be a problem if the Trojans were a three-point underdog. By all rights, Utah should have no problem taking care of the Trojans this coming weekend as they move to 7-0 on the year.

But, hey, this is college football. This will be Clay Helton’s first game this season as the interim head coach inside the Coliseum, so maybe the Trojans do put out their best effort of the year and come away with the shocking win.
