Willis Meehan was having maybe the easiest time of his career in a bout recently and he just wanted the referee to stop it

Sometimes when we watch a boxing or MMA bout, we can see that things are just more in the favor of one fighter over another. When this happens, we often yell at the TV, screaming at the referee to just stop the fight already before someone gets hurt. Very rarely, though, will you ever see a fighter beg the ref to call the match, no matter how much they’re dominating.

Well, Willis Meehan is an exception to that rule.

Meehan was recently in the ring with Leamy Tato over in New Zealand and, well, needless to say, Tato was not really on his level. In the second round of this one, that fact was clearly evident, as Meehan just came all out with the crushing blows. However, at one point, Meehan decided that he had done enough damage. He actually stopped punching Tato to yell at the referee, imploring him vehemently to stop the action.

Now that’s how you know that things are getting bad. If a fighter that’s clearly dominating the fight turns to the referee and demands things be stopped, then things have hit the lowest they can go.
